Anxiety

Suffocation swells my lungs,
As blackness envelopes my mind,
Weakness.

A wall building off my dismay,
Infinitely growing as I shrink,
Isolation.

Screams are shrieked but no sounds escape,
Reaching for control that is not discernible,
Desperation.

Finger tips run numb,
The mind is a wandering stranger,
Paralysis.

Shaking at the core,
Tears drowning my existence,
Hopelessness.

A heart beat of thunder,
Millions of thoughts rattling a soul,
Panic.

“Stop overreacting.”
“You’re so sensitive.”
Anxiety.
